JDA Collective, a family business owned and operated by the Feros family, is one of Sydney’s leading hospitality groups. Operating a diverse portfolio of venues across Metropolitan Sydney, regional New South Wales, Victoria and the Gold Coast, JDA remains true to the vibrant bar, food and pub culture Australians know and love.
The business is led by John Feros, Dean Feros and Alexandra Henderson (formerly Feros), the J.D.A. in JDA Collective, who draw on over 50 years of industry experience from their father, Theodore (“Theo”) Feros. Theo has earned widespread recognition throughout the hospitality industry, including induction into the NSW Australian Hotels Association (AHA) Hall of Fame.

After acquiring his first hotel in 1971 in partnership with his brother Nick, Theo went on to operate and develop numerous venues across Sydney throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s, playing a pioneering role in the evolution of the local hospitality scene. His achievements during this time were significant, including developing one of the most successful entertainment venues in Sydney’s western suburbs, opening the second Liquor Barn in Australia, and ranking number four in Liquor Licences Paid. His venues received numerous state and national awards.
In 1997, Theo and his wife Rene transitioned from hotel operations into consulting roles, allowing the next generation to carry forward the legacy they had built over three decades. Today, both remain closely involved in the group and continue to share their knowledge and experience. They are highly regarded across the business, which now employs more than 360 team members.
JDA Collective, under the leadership of John, Dean and Alexandra, owns and operates 14 hotels across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. The group’s portfolio also includes two bottle shops in Queensland, the iconic Putt Putt Mermaid Beach, and a range of accommodation businesses.
The group’s motto, “your premium pub experience,” reflects its commitment to delivering high-quality venues that resonate with a broad and diverse clientele. Its mission is to provide exceptional experiences through quality food, service and entertainment.
In April 2026, JDA Hotels rebranded to JDA Collective. The new name reflects its evolution into a collective of venues, experiences and ideas brought together under one brand. While its foundations are in pubs and hospitality, the group’s vision has expanded, and JDA Collective represents that growth.
